 2010 Annual Reports Available

Turning Heartbreak Into Hope. You can view our American Red Cross Regional and Piedmont Chapter Annual Reports by clicking on the highlighted links. Last year with the generous support of our donors and the time and talent of nearly 1,500 volunteers, we made a significant difference in the upstate community.
Did you know that the American Red Cross in Upstate South Carolina:
- Responded to 496 local disasters – mostly single family and apartment fires.
- Provided over $318,000 in direct financial assistance to the nearly 1,700 people affected by those disasters to meet their
immediate emergency needs including food, clothing, shelter, medications, and other essentials.
- Provided canteen support to local first responders following twenty-nine community events including apartment fires, missing
persons searches and the June 2010 train derailment in Liberty, SC.
You can read more about the American Red Cross accomplishments - both regional and local - in our 2010 Annual Reports. Be sure to click on the links above to view these two important and informative documents.

Safe and Well List

If you have been affected by a disaster, the American Red Cross Safe and Well Website provides a way for you to register yourself as "safe and well." From a list of standard messages, you can select those that you want to communicate to your family members, letting them know of your well-being. Concerned family and friends can search the list of those who have registered themselves as "safe and well." The results of a successful search will display a loved one's First Name, Last Name, an "As of Date", and the "safe and well" messages selected.

Severe Weather Information At Your Fingertips

quiltsAT&T is proud to have the local chapter of the American Red Cross as a sponsor of the Hurricane/Severe Weather Planning section of the AT&T Real Yellow Pages. This important section, located in the Community Information Pages at the front of the Real Yellow Pages, includes helpful information in the event of hurricanes, floods, tornados and severe thunderstorms. In addition, this section provides information on what to pack in a first aid kit, post-hazard checklist, repair checklist, submitting insurance claims and important phone numbers and contacts that all residents and businesses should know in the event of severe weather. As the most preferred yellow page directory in the area, the AT&T Real Yellow Pages is proud to partner with the American Red Cross in keeping our community informed and safe during the event of severe weather.
